For more information and to view the complete range test please go to CJTC website and look for Form 729 or click this link (opens into a new window).  There are additional test items, which involve loading and unloading and misfire procedures.  We will walk you through each one of these prior to the testing.

  • Prior knowledge of Firearm safety, weapons handling, and accurate shooting are a requirement for this session.
  • Practice drawing your weapons and holstering it. (Unloaded)
  • Practice reloading with your eyes up and being situational aware.
  • Ensure that your finger stays off the trigger until you are ready to fire.
  • Please remember this is a class on Washington State Firearm licensing and Washington State Weapons Qualification.  No hands-on weapons training is conducted. We do however allow two attempts to qualify and allow warm-up time.
  • Students generally have the hardest time shooting at 25 yards.  We strongly encourage you to practice shooting at 25 yards several times prior to this class.  We want you to pass this test!
  • If you require additional training we also provide that:  Firearms Training
  • Although we do not like last minute changes to our schedule, and we know you don't either, we do reserve the right to cancel any class in the event of an emergency.  Of course, refunds will be issued. Please know that we will always do our best to accommodate you.
  • The firing range is outdoors so please dress appropriately for the weather.  In December 2009 the range was closed due to extreme cold conditions make it unsafe to fire.  This is an unusual situation here in Washington, but if this does occur we will reschedule your class at no additional cost to you.  Weather is not generally an issue here in Western Washington with regards to firing outdoors.
  • You must sign a liability waiver.  It is a standard waiver, but please read it so that if you have questions you research the answers.

  • All guns are always loaded.
  • Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
  • Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on the target and you are ready to fire.
  • Be sure of your target and what is behind and beyond it.
