The Hamblen Group provides handgun re-certification for security officers, bail bonds, and private detectives. You are required by both the DOL and CJTC to qualify with your handgun once per year. This required is set by both the DOL and CJTC.
A current DOL issued armed license is a requirement. The course is a 2-3 hour process. First we cover highlights from the basic certification course. We cover the highlights to ensure that you are prepared for the testing procedure. Covering the highlights is not required but we offer it as a value added service.
The agent/officer/guard/investigator then will take the written part (closed book) and the hands-on range testing. Testing is the same as the original certification, but without the classroom instruction.
Students are advised to study for the test as a 100% is required per Washington State CJTC requirements and the test is closed book.

- Reliable Handgun (9mm/.38spl or larger)
- Minimum of Two magazines or speedloaders
- Minimum of 50 rounds of jacketed ammunition per weapon fired
- We will test you on up to five handguns

- 2 -12 Students = $100 each person
We offer discounts for companies or individuals that sign a yearly contract for re-certification.
Costs include all training booklets, testing material, range rental, qualification for up to 5 handguns, instructor costs, and take-up training materials.

- Prior knowledge of Firearm safety, weapons handling, and accurate shooting are a requirement for this session.
- Please remember this is a Washington State Firearm licensing and Washington State Weapons Qualification.
- No extensive hands-on weapons training is conducted. We do allow and recommend, a warm-up session. During the warm-up, our instructors are able to give coaching to increase your qualification score. In addition, we do allow two attempts to qualify and will certify you with up to 5 handguns at no additional cost.
- If you require more in-depth training, we also provide that: Firearms Training. The firearms (handgun) training is flexable and can be targeted to meet shortcomings and to enhance your skills.
- If circumstances force you to cancel your class 50% is refundable. Classes are much like a concert or sporting event. The instructor must be paid even if no one comes to the class.
- Although we do not like last minute changes to our schedule and we know you don't either, we do reserve the right to cancel any class in the event of an emergency. Of course, refunds will be issued. Please know that we will always do our best to accommodate you.
- The firing range is outdoors, so please consider the weather and dress appropriately.
- Prior to the class you are sent a liability waiver. It is a standard waiver, but please read it so that if you have questions you can ask.

- All guns are always loaded.
- Never let the muzzle cover anything that you are not willing to destroy.
- Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on the target and you are ready to fire.
- Be sure of your target and what is behind and beyond it.
